Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Unlimited Wordle (“Unlimited Wordle,” “the game,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you play. It applies to the website at wordle-unlimited.ajh.wtf, including the browser version of the game and these informational pages, and to the Unlimited Wordle Discord Activity and bot when you launch or use them inside Discord.

Unlimited Wordle is a free word game made by an independent developer. We have tried to keep it lightweight and privacy-respecting: there are no accounts to create, no passwords to set, and nothing to pay for. By using the game you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the game.

Information we collect

We collect only the small amount of information needed to run the game, show you your own stats, and let you play with friends. What we collect depends on where you play.

When you play the Discord Activity or use the bot:

• Your Discord user ID and display name. Discord provides these to the game when you launch the Activity or run a command. We use your user ID to recognize your saved statistics across sessions, and your display name so that you and other players in the same Activity can see whose board is whose.
• Game results and statistics. This includes the levels you have played, whether you solved them and in how many guesses, your win distribution, and your current and longest streaks. In multiplayer, the colored tiles of your in-progress board are shared with others in the same Activity so friends can watch the race — the underlying word and your specific letters are not revealed until the round ends.

When you play the web version in your browser:

• Local gameplay progress. Your current puzzle, guesses, stats, and streaks are stored in your browser’s localStorage on your own device. This data stays in your browser and is not tied to a Discord account.

We do not collect email addresses, passwords, phone numbers, payment or billing information, or your precise location. We never ask you to create an account with us, and we do not sell your personal information.

How we use information

We use the limited information above only to operate and improve the game. Specifically, we use it to:

• run the game and serve you the correct puzzle for each numbered level;
• save and display your statistics, win distribution, and current and longest streaks;
• enable multiplayer — matching players in the same Activity, syncing the shared word, and showing each player’s spoiler-free board in real time;
• remember your preferences, such as whether you have muted game notifications; and
• keep the game working reliably, prevent abuse, and diagnose technical problems.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not share your Discord identity with advertisers.

Cookies and local storage

The web version of Unlimited Wordle uses your browser’s localStorage to keep your game state and statistics on your device between visits. This is essential to the game working as expected — without it, your streak and progress would reset every time you reloaded the page. This data is stored locally and is not transmitted to us as part of normal play.

In addition, third-party services we use — in particular our advertising provider, Google AdSense — may set cookies in your browser when you view pages on this website. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings and manage advertising cookies as described in the section below. Inside the Discord Activity, the game runs within Discord and relies on Discord’s own environment rather than website cookies.

Children’s privacy

Unlimited Wordle is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Discord itself requires users to be at least 13 years old (or older where local law sets a higher age). If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us using the details below and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

Data retention

We keep game statistics tied to your Discord user ID for as long as they are needed to provide the game — for example, to maintain your streak and win history between sessions. For the web version, your progress lives in your browser’s localStorage and remains on your device until you clear it. Advertising cookies set by Google and other vendors are retained according to those vendors’ own policies. You can request deletion of your Discord game data at any time by contacting us.

Your choices and rights

You remain in control of your data. Depending on how you play, you can:

• Clear your browser data. In the web version, clearing your browser’s site data or localStorage for this site removes your saved game, stats, and streaks from your device.
• Opt out of personalized ads. Use Google Ads Settings or www.aboutads.info/choices to limit interest-based advertising, and use your browser settings to block or delete cookies.
• Manage Discord data. You can request access to, or deletion of, the game statistics we store against your Discord user ID by contacting us. Stopping use of the Activity prevents any further data from being collected.
